The history of Time-Keeper Shelties began when early in my
teens a friend of a friend had to give away a sheepdog. My
parents had said that they didn't want an English Sheepdog.
Our friend told us "Oh, no, this isn't one of those, this is a
miniature collie. Now that we knew what a Shetland
Sheepdog was, of course we would take it. Thank God that
we did. She was the most wonderful dog that had come into
our lives. She was a true work of art - brains, beauty and
personality all together in one tiny package. My mind was
made up. I was hooked on Shelties for life.

At age 20 I made inquiries to every breeder in the Dog World
magazine, not knowing where else to look. There was one
person who really made an impression on me. She asked me
what I wanted in a Sheltie. Her comments had taken me by
surprize. Most of the others had just told me what they had
available. Then I proceeded to tell her about our old Sheltie. I
then told her that I wanted a dog that was pretty enough to
take into a show ring, smart enough to go through obedience
and enough natural herding instinct to handle the cattle,
horses, sheep, ducks and chickens that we had on our small
farm. Her first comment was "You're not asking for too much
are you?" And I replied, "I don't think so." The wait for this
dog spanned 5 years and quite a few phone calls, but, the end
result was well worth the wait. In 1995 we finally purchased
WYNDCHIME TIME-KEEPERS DREAM. She is a great
dog, but don't tell her that. In her mind she is a person. To
Gaile, "Thanks so much for "Wyndi". She may not be show
quality, but she is a wonderful addition to the family, what a
start into Shelties."

My goal is to produce show quality dogs, whether it be for
conformation or performance. And also to follow in Gaile's
footsteps and try my best to match our dogs up with people
that will love them for the way that they are.

And just recently, Kismet Kennels graciously allowed a
fantastic little gentleman to come and live with us. Everyone
can start looking for him in the ring by next spring, I hope.

Many thanks to the following people for their assistance in
developing our kennel. You are all the lamps that light our
path to conformation and herding ability Shetland Sheepdogs:
